Hey man! Thanks for the shout out.

Good luck with your goals, sounds like you've got a good plan! If you can, get your hands on Thomas Myers, Anatomy Trains. I wish I had it when I was doing hands on anatomy. It's great for musculoskeletal stuff.

Yeah I dont know if they are too conservative now, hope so! Glad you decided to dig up Supertraining, its a real slog but undeniably superior content vs most modern books. Definitely want to get on Stuart McGill, many people recommend back disorders, especially applicable to myself! Good luck with the goals

Good luck with your goals for 2012, I just wrote mine down the other day!

Thanks for mentioning Supertraining - had that one as a pdf for ages but didnt read it yet. But I will do so after my current book, Low Back Disorders by Stuart McGill. If you havent read it, check it out/put it on your list for books to read!

Yeah, its more a time thing now actually, occassionally miss a day due to something unexpected stealing my evening session. Its going ok though squatting whenever i am in the gym, at least 6x p/w. Put up a new 1rm and my oly lifts have improved, but its still early days and i guess progression is going to stagnate/regress soonish.

Im guessing you been inspired by the Broz approach, that kind of frequency has benefits for those that just lift. Keep us posted! Ive found natural lifters struggle with this kind of frequency too. But then again the abscence of deleterious assistance and accessory work will work its effect too.

That sounds solid Sam, I do think that the whole periodisation shablam is fairly widely agreed upon that three month cycles are a pretty good standard to go by.
This is why i find this max effort everyday malarky quite interesting because it goes completely against the oft-cited rule of accomodation where doing the same thing over and over just leads to staleness and zero progression. This is a central concept of training but doing 1rm squats day in day out is kind of counter that, so i am interested to see how it goes.
